Hardware Codes

The hardware codes listed on EggHeaven are the type you can use for accessing extra settings and/or hidden engineering menus found on some hardware devices. We don't list unlock codes for mobiles or DVD region-free codes.

Computer Easter Eggs

A Computer Egg is an obscure message or feature hidden within software and other such media products that are not immediately accessible to its user. These hidden items are added by the product developers as a bit of fun, and perhaps for extra publicity and marketing advantage too. These can vary from simple animations to rolling credits of programmer names to undocumented features and elaborate built-in extras such as those found in some movie DVD's. Others can be in the form of hidden tracks in music CDs (usually at the end of the disc) or as game easter eggs like this Heart of Liberty City entry for GTA 4. Most are triggered by a set of commands or procedures within the product.

Microsoft featured these mainly in its Windows based software. Microsoft's Flight Simulator in Excel is a good example. They officially ceased adding these with its Trustworthy Computing Initiative in 2002.

Listings Accuracy

We try very hard to ensure each code listing is accurate and in the correct sequence. As we don't have access to every product to verify each one personally, some may pass through that wont work. You can help by commenting on these with your experiences to help us verify listings for which all readers benefit.
