Have your sim in a good mood. Using the phone, select "throw party" from the pie menu 3 times consecutively. This will give you enough guests. Once your guests arrive, have a buffet table and caterer ready. Next, buy a party cake from the miscelaneous menu and hire a female cake dancer. All of your sims will cluster around to watch. In a few minutes, a large limouzine will pull in front of your house and Drew Carey will appear along with a box with some dialogue in it. All of the sims at the party will get very excited and run toward the limo. Drew talks to a lot of people, says some more stuff, then leaves after a few hours. Your guests will talk about him for a long time after he leaves. It's worked 5 times consecutively for me.
You must have "The Sims: House Party" expansion pack.
A party crasher may also show up using this method.
