Have you ever enjoyed watching little ants scurry about? This may sound really boring to some, but actually it can be very relaxing and a sure hobby for some. This awesome Antworks antfarm gives you the opportunity to watch these little critters in a new and innovative space age habitat. This gel ant habitat is created from a NASA space experiment and not only their home but also provides the ants the nutrients they need. The cool part comes in as you watch the colony turn the aqua-blue gel into an amazing series of tunnels. This is the first and only ant farm that allows you to see ants at work through the almost see-through gel.
Ant Works units are based on the NASA space shuttle experiment to study animal life in space. The non-toxic gel is actually food for the ants so they can grow a healthy colony. You can watch them live, work, and create their tunnels in this gel and really discover what makes them tick.
The great part about this revolutionary gel ant colony/farm is that you don't have to feed or water the ants as the unit has everything it needs once you have it running with your own ants. The habitat comes complete with the case, gel, magnifying glass, four blue LED’s which are embedded in the base, ant catching and tunnel starting tool and an instruction booklet with all kinds of data on the ants life.
Entomologist Note: Ants are not supplied with the antquarium; you will have to catch some of your own. I would be careful choosing these as you may find ants of a different color may not do well together.
