Notepad - Microsoft Is Rep?

07 Jul 2006 | Sent in by Anon

1. Open a new notepad and type bush had the facts. (no dot)

2. Save the document (no special name needed).

3. Open it in Notepad.

Now the text is changed to a peculiar form. This is a known software glitch in Notepad.

Tan - Apr 2 2008 1:53AM It cloud be any word has 4-3-3-5 characters. (Such as "Palm say the truth" or "John was the idiot")and save with the first word (example: If you type"Palm say the truth", you should save it with the name Palm.txtX

Jesse - Mar 4 2008 2:15PM its bush hid the facts
not bush had the facts

-- - Oct 17 2007 4:08AM this is due to the type of encoding that the chineese characters are shown in, for example unicode and ansi are both different character numbers, this goes into the binary setup etc

Sir notepad - Jun 16 2007 10:55PM unfortunately this did not work for me

kaboing - Feb 15 2007 5:25PM Not EVERY single 4,3,3,5 letter word will do this. For example, even 'hhhh hhh hhh hhhhh' will work, but 'fred ate the trees' stays as is.

blah - Jan 16 2007 8:57PM It's actually random Chinese characters that show up, If you do not have the eastern Asian language pack installed, you see boxes. Apparently this is caused by some code/number thing that notepad does while saving things. Any 4 letter word + 3 letter word + 3 letter word + 5 letter word will do this.
