With the game off, hold down the UP and K buttons at the same time while turning it on to PRO 1. The screen will flash. After it does, release the buttons. It will go through some light tests and then you can press buttons to test sounds and functions.
This also works on the baseball one, but you hold down SCORE and PITCH.
